I took my bike for a ride on the Salt Marsh Trail; I was smiling from cheek to cheek the entire time!
Bevy stop during my bike ride; so serene.
Sun and fog. Amazing view near the end of my ride.
About once a year we visit the Halifax Public Gardens. We like to see the newly planted flowers and just see if there’s any overall changes.
Like this hidden house we found.
Or one of the “play me” Halifax pianos.
We discovered a hidden bird.
My mom asked me to take a picture of the pretty flowers; she wanted a pink one in particular. I just happened to catch an ant on one of the petals.
I look forward to going next year as I’ve found myself taking more of an interest in plants and flowers.
I made some major changes to my life in 2017; I quit my job in February, then enrolled in college and got myself a part time job on the weekends. I never have a day off so to find time to do my favorite things like hiking has been difficult. After going 7 days a week for over a month I finally found a day to go for a hike!
I thought there would be no better place than the Salt Marsh Trail to take in the change of season.
Shades of green, yellow and red.
The apples on the tree were impossible to reach!
There’s an entrance to this trail from Lawrencetown town which I have not done yet, I think I’ll head there soon!
An afternoon hike at the Salt Marsh Trail. The soundtrack was Incubus.
“Maybe there’s a poem in reverse
Spoken and it holds me out forever
Man it breaks my heart a little bit
That love is like a blind archer
Tryin’ to shoot an apple off my head
I’m not dead yet
I’m not dead yet, no
I’m bent but not broken
And I’m not dead yet
We’re undefeated, bent but not broken
No, they ain’t seen nothing yet.” – Incubus, “Undefeated”

A day drive to Cow Bay turned into a rose picking adventure on the side of the road.
Bloom where you are planted.
Work hard, stay bumble.
Mon amie picking from the rose hip tree. Her plan is to make some jam with the rose hips. Hopefully, I’ll get to try some!
About 1 kilos of rose hips! There will be a few bottles of jam, I’m sure!
We finished off the adventure feeling childlike, as we picked delicious raspberries on a trail to the water; a flock of seagulls were waiting for us to arrive!
It was the end of one of the most frenetic weeks I’ve ever experienced. A situation that happened to a loved one put me in the position to take full control and fix it as quickly as possible.
This challenge left me feeling purely exhausted. I didn’t feel like doing much, but I decided to meet up with a friend for something low key and relaxing. We ended up at the lake. We reflected on the chaos that just happened whilst sitting in the rain.
Then came the sun…
I guess it’s important to remember that there’s always sunshine after the rain. Life will always have storms, but we push through, and the sun will reappear.
I saw the pictures of this beach online, so I was very excited to walk up to this point to see for myself what was beyond. I was also impressed by the prime parking!
Amazing! 5 klm of white sandy beach, and so much to explore! Beach life galore! With the beautiful sound of crashing waves.
As we were leaving, my eyes filled up with tears, not because I was sad to leave but because there’s so much salt in the air!
Its love at first sight! I’m in love with this beach!
